Have you really thought about what version you are in your career? Are you high up there with your experience, injuries, major goals & achievements? So what’s your version? I’ll help you figure that out.

This is going to require some serious thinking on your part and going through your entire career so far to figure out your major and minor upgrades.

Major Versions

The major version upgrades (for example 1.0 to 2.0) are any significant changes or achievements in your athletic career.

  • Major Injuries: Did you have any major injuries like a pulled hamstring, ACL/MCL or that set you back? Those injuries that you know were going to keep you off the field, track or courts. These upgrades count when you overcome this major setback and are back up on your feet.
  • Achievements: These can count for any major goals that you have reached. Any national records you break, any medal at major events, any big career move that you make.
  • Major Changes: You can choose whatever suits your career. The above are just some guidelines to help, but everyone is different. Make up your own major upgrades, keep track of it, and have fun with it.

Minor Versions

  • Seasons: Every year is a new season. Whether you go from indoor to outdoor or from off season training camp to the seasons start or playoffs, they are all season changes.
  • Minor Injuries: These are those injuries that don’t keep you out for 6-8 months, but just nag you the entire year. A hamstring tear that kept you out for a week or tear,
  • Personal Bests: When you achieve a new personal best in a race or game high goals or assists in a game, that is a very big accomplishment.
  • Minor Changes: Again like major changes, everyone is different. Come up with your own upgrades for your career. With minor changes they can go on for a long time without any major changes. For example, 2.3 can continue all the way to 2.21 without any major changes.

Know Your Version! Then add it to you Twitter description or Facebook space that is under the profile picture!

Very nice article. If you don’t mind me saying… you made a small spelling error. Under the “Achievements” section, you spelt ‘break’ as ‘brake’.
