Nutrition is an important aspect in everyone’s lives…(muppet or not.) Even the Cookie Monster has nutritional rules to live by, even though sometimes his views become misguided by cookies…
Enjoy your cookies!
1. Eat Breakfast (Before You Eat Cookies)
Start the day off right with a healthy breakfast. You get the energy you need for the day, and will be less hungry as the day progresses.
2. Eat Every 3 Hours (Makes the Cookies that Much Better!)
Gobble down your breakfast, lunch, dinner, post workout cookies, pre bedtime cookies, and two to three snacks in between, cookies & cookies.
You’re less hungry eating more small meals then a few big meals during the day. When you don’t eat, you usually end up with more cravings, plus overeating at your next meal or just cookies all day. Pick times during the day to eat. Set your watch alarm and stick to those fixed times.
3. Have Protein with Each Meal. (Milk with cookies!)
You can’t just eat cookies alone, you should have protein with each meal to maintain and build muscle. They keep you full longer than just carbohydrates will alone. Red meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy sources can fulfill this need.
4. Eat Fruits & Veggies with Each Meal
It’s a must! You need the essential vitamins, minerals, antioaxidants and fiber that fruits and vegetables provide, which can help with digestion.
5. Eat Cookies Carbs Post Workout Only
You need carbs for energy, but most people eat too much of them than they need. Save the carbs for after your workouts. Stick with whole grains, rice, pasta, bread, potatoes.
6. Drink Water
Prevent dehydration with all the cookies you eat. Have a glass of water when you first wake up, then another with your cookies meal in the morning. Sip some more during your workout and prevent dehydration. Working out causes water loss through sweating which doesn’t help muscle recovery unless you drink.
7. Eat Whole Foods 90% of the Time (Cookies the other 10%)
To get the healthy results you want, 90% of your intake should be whole foods consisting of unprocessed and unrefined foods. So eat foods as close to their natural state as possible. NOT processed foods that usually contain sugars, trans fats, corn syrup and other chemicals.
(You should never have to cut out junk food or cookies, but the biggest factor to keep in mind is MODERATION.)
