We decided to have some fun with one of our practices and make it a little brotherly competition. (There were no bets placed, just made it interesting!) Part 1 is plyometric wall jumps, basically box jumps, but we didn’t have box jumps to work with.

Plyometric training is very important because it closely reflects the movement patterns and speeds of many sports. And this is something that weight training just cannot do.

Enjoy our competition, & find out who wins below!

First off, great video. A competition practice is a great way to push yourself and make practice fun at the same time. Second, I think it’s important for people to realize the jumping technique you guys use. By raising your arms then shooting down you enable the stretch reflex which loads and prepares your muscles allowing maximal and faster contraction.

You know it Bryce, I am all about training hard and getting better while having as much fun as possible. Interms of the technique there will be a follow up post coming on technique because you are right a lot of people do not understand how much that helps.
