The title says it all, the vibram five fingered shoes are the greatest training tools I have ever put on my feet!

Stop letting style dictate what to put on your feet. I will make this simple the shoes help strengthen muscles in your feet that never get used because training shoes are almost like having your feet in a cast at all times. The small muscles in your feet dont get used, so when our body does not use something it dwindles away. This is a HUGE problem because we train from the ground up. When our feet have problems it slowly slithers its way up your body like an evil snake just waiting to kill.

Hey I’m a trend setter! People see them and at first are like they are ugly. Others think that it is a foot injury waiting to happen because they dont have that cushioned heel that shoe companies have told us to love and cherish. I have been training really well in them and I am here to say they are excellent. I no longer love and cherish training shoes. I will give you the list of advantages to five finger shoes and the few disadvantages.

Advantages

  • Excellent for running on grass especially uneven grass, because they strengthen the ankles, and the are nearly impossible to roll you ankle in because they have no heel… think about it how do you roll your ankle bare foot
  • Keeps you running on the ball of your foot which is how your supposed to run and better prepares your feet for spikes or just flat our sprinting
  • Help with good big toe push off because it is every toe for itself
  • Wakes up muscles all around your feet and ankles that you literally never knew you had
  • God did not make us to wear shoes that’s why we are born without them
  • Even amazing for weight training they keep you grounded for lifts like cleans, and squats which also help with stablilty during these lifts
  • Really helps with dorsi flexion during running which only leads to a faster athlete

Disadvantages

  • They can hurt your feet when just jogging on really hard surfaces and sometimes feels uncomfortable just jogging in them
  • Make people look at you weird so if you do not like being different than they are probally not for you
  • In the first couple weeks really make your feet hurt because of all the muscles waking up

I once ran in my bare feet (only socks) because I had a blister and it was hurting too much to run with shoes. I felt my form improve instantly, but I found that it was only good for sprinting/ going really fast, when I jogged it felt a bit funny.
